We recently received an email from a couple in Scotland working alongside a church in Aberdeen. Since they have constant contact with the Church of Scotland (the national state-supported church that Scott has worked for in the past) we asked them some questions about the Church. We had known that the Church was struggling in a lot of areas and were curious what the missionaries on the “ground floor” were thinking. They informed us that (as we had already heard from other sources) the Church is indeed debating whether to ordain homosexual ministers and straying in general from holding its ministers to a Biblical standard. They believe that within a few years there will be a large split in the Church. Many (perhaps most) still hold to the Bible and are standing for the truth (such as the areas Scott worked in) but the Church which was a powerful witness for Christ is in steady decline. Please pray .

These pictures were taken yesterday (Oct 21) on Liam’s one-month “birthday.” He had a check-up yesterday and weighed 10 lb 4 oz (he was 7 lb 14 oz at birth), and I think 22 3/4 inches long. The doctor said he’s doing fine! We’re thankful to have a healthy baby.

Our son Liam Earl Daily was born Sept. 21, weighed 7′ 14″, and over 21 inches long. He is a very alert and active baby, mother and child are doing great.

Karen’s due date is tomorrow, so thought we would get around to posting some pictures of her before the little guy comes. Should he hold off until then, we are speaking at Calvary Chapel this Sunday.

The last two weekends Karen has had baby showers – one with the Daily family and one at our home church, Calvary Chapel. While we were in Minnesota the end of July, family/church there threw a surprise shower. And even earlier (in June), friends in West Virginia gave a baby shower. Family and friends have been such a blessing as they generously provide things for life with a baby. Only two weeks now until the due date – he could come anytime!

We had an enjoyable trip to Minnesota last month, with some wonderful openings to speak at several churches, and the chance to spend time with Karen’s family. We are still looking for churches to build relationships with and people to host gatherings at their homes where we can share our vision. As we prepare for the birth of our son next month we are excited to see how God will provide for us. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Our first Scotland ministry presentation was July 12th at Lighthouse Fellowship in Coatesville, IN. They have been such a big encouragement and support to us as we went to Haiti and now as we prepare to go to Scotland. It has been neat to hear how God has been working in their fellowship as well in providing a building to meet in spite of some obstacles.

Another first was labor and childbirth class last Thursday. Oh the pain I have to look forward to. I’m thankful to have a wonderful husband to be there with me!

Our Scotland trip (June 17-24) went very well, and as we desired, it confirmed our decision to join a team of missionaries in Scotland serving with Biblical Ministries Worldwide (www.biblicalministries.org). In addition to meeting several of the missionary team around Glasgow and Edinburgh, we got to do some sightseeing.

Praise the Lord we got the paperwork/visa that we needed to leave the country in time. God is really good, it was supposed to take two weeks and thus would have made us miss our scheduled flight, but thanks to Willem and God’s mercy we have what we need.
