We left Indianapolis yesterday afternoon with our total of 4 suitcases and 4 carry-ons, pretty sure (at least hoping) we had cared for the important details in preparation for a year absence. We had an overnight layover in Ft. Lauderdale and spent the night at the airport since we got in late and were leaving fairly early in the morning. There was one advantage in having to claim our luggage and re-check it in the morning – we had a comforter and pillow in one of the suitcases. J
Flights were good, all luggage arrived in Port-au-Prince safely, we cleared customs quickly (probably about 30 seconds at the window!), and it’s very nice to be staying with the Charles’ – Willem, Beth, Stephen & David – until we move into our own place. The reality starts to sink in that things are really going to be changing for us in the days ahead – do we really know what we’re doing here? – but know that God has brought us here and will take one day at a time continuing to trust Him.
